The server backs up to an on-site backup server with drives in a raid 5 and also to an offsite “cloud backup”. Also with folder redirection, we don’t have to worry about files.

They released an update that blocked the internet connection once. We have only had one problem with the AV. They have an on-premise version where you host your own controller and we have tried that too, but the “cloud” version works better in my experience. It’s completely managed from the malwarebytes website. There’s no control panel or anything for end-users to use. I’ve been using malwarebytes business cloud for one of my clients for about a year now and it’s really nice. It's always those 3 reasons, and those are 3 really shitty qualifiers for a security product, especially when they are the only 3. It certainly wasn't because you had your customers' best interest in mind. It certainly wasn't because it's the product that you felt was going to provide your customers with the level of protection that is needed in today's modern landscape of ever changing malware/virus/crypto threats. tried and true enterprise grade AV products. Why did you pick Webroot? It certainly wasn't from some reports showing that it is an adept security product, or battle cards showing it's effectiveness vs. Yet, it's the most widely used AV protection in MSP because of those 3 things. Search Webroot on r/msp and find any compelling reasons for using Webroot that aren't cheap, easy, or lightweight. If I did, I would have said "But Webroot is fantastic!". has Anyone managed to get it to work like they demo it?!).
and, it has let through several crypto viruses with no roll back (despite the slides/promises. but, what's the point in saving a few pounds per month when it takes so much more admin time or light weight if it isn't protecting. I'll never find something as light weight or as cheap. I've brought this feedback to them and I keep hearing they are working on it, but, nothing ever seems to happen. The company is super friendly, I've chatted to the guys several times at numerous events and I have nothing against them - but, I just find that product leaves so much to be desired. My main issue being is that it silently blocks stuff all the time despite exceptions and with 0 feedback of what it has done. (To be clear, I am just taking about basic Defender and not Defender Advanced Threat Protection). In additional to Compliance Policies, you can even set Conditional Access rules that if any device falls out of Compliance, you can instantly lock the device and data, or require a fingerprint MFA to be sure it is your identity accessing the documents. Modern: Intune of course! You can set Compliance Policies in Intune to alert and report the status of Defender, if there is a virus, if Defender is updated. I have played around with OptiTune RMM and it is the only RMM to natively have Defender Central Management right out of the box. Traditional: Just about any RMM can be tweaked to alert if Defender does not update or if it is not running.
